Horizon Residence combines clean architecture, natural materials, and generous light.
Project Overview
A private real estate developer approached Nolta Studio to design a premium residential building that reflects the evolving lifestyle of Los Angeles. The client sought a modern yet timeless structure that would blend sophistication with comfort, serving as a benchmark for living.
Objective
To create a high-end residential building that combines functional planning, aesthetic balance, and connection to its surroundings. The project was envisioned as a calm, light-filled environment offering residents privacy, natural warmth, and architectural character.
Scope
Design a residential complex with a mix of family apartments and penthouses.
Include shared amenities such as a rooftop lounge, courtyard garden, and fitness area.
Ensure sustainable design practices with energy-efficient materials and ventilation systems

Design Approach and Execution
Concept and vision
Horizon Residence was conceived as a balance of structure and serenity — a building that feels open, grounded, and timeless. Inspired by California’s light and landscape, the design integrates warm materials and generous glazing to create harmony between interior and exterior spaces.
Design philosophy: Architecture as a quiet backdrop to daily life — functional, elegant, and enduring. Thoughtfully designed to feel timeless and effortless. Spaces that support living with clarity and ease.
Key features: Horizontal façade rhythm, natural stone, and layered transparency.
Execution
Phase 1: Urban analysis & planning
The site’s slope and solar orientation guided the building’s stepped form, ensuring optimal views and daylight. This approach allowed the architecture to integrate naturally with the terrain while creating a seamless connection between interior spaces and the surrounding landscape.
Phase 2: Architectural development
Façade articulation was refined through material layering and recessed balconies, enhancing depth and shadow play throughout the day.
Phase 3: Interior detailing
Minimal lines, natural textures, and neutral tones create calm and coherence across all living spaces. Every detail is considered with balance and restraint. Designed to bring a quiet sense of comfort to everyday living.
Phase 4: Construction & completion
Completed in 2024, Horizon Residence embodies precision and craft — from façade detailing to interior joinery — resulting in a cohesive architectural identity. Each element was designed to feel refined, purposeful, and lasting.
Results and reflection
Horizon Residence redefines residential architecture in Los Angeles — timeless, functional, and human-centered. The project exemplifies Nolta Studio’s commitment to thoughtful design that merges spatial clarity with emotional warmth.
